Got A Bad Case of Halitosis?

Got A Bad Case of Halitosis?

Bad breath A.K.A Halitosis can result from a multitude of things such as poor dental hygiene, eating different types of foods which have a strong odor or it can be a indicator of a brewing health problem.

Enjoying foods with a strong odor can cause bad breath by the odor getting absorbed into your blood stream and it gets carried to your lungs resulting that the odors are given off as you breathe and hence you end up with bad breath.

Poor dental hygiene is another contributing factor ,when proper hygiene is not exercised it promotes bacterial growth in your mouth as a by product by the left over food particles that are left in your mouth and these bacteria give off a terrible odor ,this odor will not go away unless they are cleaned away . This also applies to those who wear dentures.

Now you may ask yourself how can health problems cause Halitosis?..bad breath or a bad taste in your mouth can be a sign of gum disease that if left untreated can go as far as damaging your jaw bone. Other diseases which if left untreated can cause bad breath are; yeast infection, pneumonia, bronchitis, sinus infections, diabetes, chronic acid re- flux, liver disease, and kidney disease just to mention a few. Aside from basic dental care such as brushing and flossing and rinsing everyday after meals and before bedtime it is also of paramount importance to keep your moth clean by chewing on sugar free gum and constantly rinsing your mouth to clean away any harmful bacteria before it has time to settle in your mouth
