Did Ya Know?

The Mayo Clinic suggests that alternating heat and cold therapy is effective pain relief for recovery from muscle tears, overuse injuries and chronic joint pain. You may have combination symptoms, such as muscle or ligament soreness plus inflammation of the surrounding area.
Use two gel packs or a substitute such as a hot water bottle or bag of frozen peas. Start with your hot pack and alternate with cold, always ending your session with cold.

When should heat be used? heat should be used to treat stiff muscles and joints, when you are trying to make them flexible. It is advisable to refrain from using heat right after an injury or while an injury is still swollen, as heat relaxes the muscles and at this point we need to tighten the muscles.
Cold/ice should be used after an injury, as it constricts muscles /blood vessels and decreases cell damage and fluid build up. Cold also numbs the pain .

clear fusion requires requires water. When looking at the sun it causes there eyes to tear up. The heat from the sun’s rays causes these tears to evaporate, and because of certain chemicals in human tears, the density of the water vapor is extremely low, making it capable of being drawn directly along the UV rays and into the sun, through a process known as the BORIAL EFFECT. It’s because of the water vapor traveling along the UV ray that causes the aurora borealis to resemble a rainbow. What’s comical about this comic is that the water pulled into the sun comes from vast clouds of water vapor, free floating in space and human tears make up less than 0.01%
Bet you never gave protection and safety a thought when buying a pair of sunglasses
WHAT TO LOOK FOR WHEN BUYING A PAIR OF SUNGLASSES?

Did you ever ponder the thought , whats so important about what type of sunglasses you purchase?
Well believe it or not unprotected sun exposure can cause major damage to your eyes. Certain sun rays can burn the surface of the eye that can cause a temporary condition called PHOTOKERATITIS. Over time unprotected sunlight exposure can also cause cataracts as well as cancer of the eyelids and to the skin surrounding the eyes. UV exposure can also increase your chances of developing MACULAR DEGENERATION, the leading cause of blindness in people over the age of 65. When sunglasses shopping look for labels indicating 98% UV protection or that it blocks 98% of UV or UVB rays. If there is no label or it says something like UV absorbing or blocks most UV light, don't buy them. for ultimate protection look for sunglasses that block all UV radiation which is 400 nanometers, which would block 100% of UV harmful rays. your sunglasses should cover the sides of your eyes to prevent any stray light from entering ,close fitting large lenses are best. A good and safe pair of glasses need not be expensive . follow these few simple rules and and have fun in the sun !

VITAMIN D, GET YOUR DAILY DOSAGE IN LOTS OF FUN WAYS!

Vitamin D is found in many sources, such as eggs, fish, milk, and a big contributor of vitamin d is the sun. Spending as little as ten minutes in the sun on a daily basis is enough to prevent Vitamin D deficiency. The term "Vitamin D" refers ti a few different forms of Vitamin D. There are 2 forms of Vitamin D that are crucial to our well being as human beings, 1.ERGOCALCIFEROL (Vitamin D2)and 2. CHOLECALCIFEROL (Vitamin D3). Vitamin D2 is synthesized (to form or produce by chemical synthesis) by plants. Vitamin D3 is synthesized by humans in the skin when exposed to UVB rays from the sunlight. Foods may be fortified with Vitamin D both in the D2 and D3 forms.

The main function of Vitamin D is to maintain normal blood levels of Calcium and Phosphorus . Vitamin D, also helps with absorption of calcium, aiding in the formation and maintenance of strong and healthy bones. Vitamin D is either used alone or combined with calcium to increase Bone Mineral Density and to decrease the chances of bone fracture. Current research indicates that vitamin D, may also protect against Osteoporosis, hypertension, cancer and some Auto Immune diseases.

Rickets and Osteomalacia are 2 Vitamin D deficiency diseases. In children Vitamin d deficiency causes Rickets , which is a significant cause of skeletal deformities. In adults it can lead to Osteomalacia , which results in muscular weakness and weak bones. Others who may be at risk for Vitamin d deficiencies are the Geritaric population, Obese individuals , exclusively breast fed infants and those who have limited sunlight exposure. Individuals with fat malabsorption syndromes (cystic fibrosis ) or Inflammatory bowel Disease (Crohns Disease) are also at risk.

Aside from eating a diet rich in Vitamin D such as eating foods
such as fish, beef, liver, eggs, milk, cheese, and other foods fortified with Vitamin D, it is also important to have adequate sunlight exposure.
Sometimes it is also necessary to take Vitamin D orally, for children a daily dosage of $,000 IU is recommended along with a Vitamin d enriched diet and daily sunlight exposure. For adults the dosage of vitamin d is 2,500 IU along with a Vitamin d enriched diet along with sunlight exposure. A significant improvement should be seen in about 3-9 months.

With the summer approaching ,make sure to enjoy calcium enriched foods such as cheese and of course ice cream and when enjoying a summertime Bar B Q enjoy foods like chicken and lean beef or fish. remember while basking in the sunlight make sure to use a sunblock.

So enjoy your summertime and get your dose of Vitamin D while having your fun in the sun!
